Teletherapy
What is Teletherapy?
Teletherapy is the delivery of therapy services via a secure, interactive video platform. The speech therapist interacts with the client in real-time. It is appropriate for most school-aged children, as well as teens and adults. ASHA, the American Speech-Language-Hearing association endorses teletherapy as an effective mode of service delivery.
There are many advantages to getting speech therapy on-line. It is flexible and convenient, since it minimizes transportation time, and allows your child to work in the comfortable, quiet environment of home. Kids love the computer games and visuals that can be integrated into therapy, which provides additional motivation—not to mention fun!
All you need to start speech therapy on-line is high speed internet access, and a computer or iPad with a camera. Headphones or earbuds can be helpful during sessions.
Give us a call to get started. An initial assessment is required, which may be in person, to determine your speech-language needs/your child’s needs and answer your questions.
